This week, you stepped up, and were patient and kind with us as we worked on making Sedona Public Library the best community library it can be. Thank you for your understanding and for being flexible as we worked on much needed updates. After all, the building is turning 30 building needed some tender-loving care. When you see what we’ve been up to, you’ll agree! And GET LOUD over it!
We hope that you took this week to explore other libraries in the Verde Valley and see what they have to offer their communities, or took a trip out to our Village location to enjoy the beautiful space and to meet Aurelia and Marie! All this is now paying off in dividends. We welcome the community to join us on Sunday, December 8 at 2PM as we GET LOUD!
At the LIBRARY? Surely you jest? We do not jest, and you ABSOLUTELY should get loud at the BIGGEST library event the Verde Valley has ever seen! For over 30 years, this library has been serving the community in good times and trying times. I think we’ve earned the right to let our cardigans down, cut loose, and have some fun and GET LOUD! You notice the theme yet by the way?
And the best part? It’s all FREE! So, grab the kiddos, grab a friend and plan to be blown away by this epic day of music, adventure, good eats, and community connection as we all GET LOUD! at the library! Parking will be at the high school because a big party with a climbing wall, taco truck, and a mechanical bull takes up a lot of space. But don’t worry, the shuttle (complete with a magician to entertain passengers on the ride) is free too! (Shuttles run from 2 to 7 pm.)
So, what’s to do at this GET LOUD! celebration at the library? I’m glad you asked. The answer is EVERYTHING! From 2 pm – 5 pm we’re gonna kick off the festivities with music from Local Honey – a great time to try out those line-dancing moves you’ve been working on, you can savor delicious street tacos from Nana’s Tacos, and bring out your inner cowpoke and ride a mechanical bull (yes, you read that right! – after signing that waiver form), maybe reenact the Sylvester Stallone cinematic classic Cliffhanger with a rock climbing wall (yes you read that right, too!), and so much more! Oh, did I mention you can come by and get a caricature from yours truly? Because you can!
And what GET LOUD celebration wouldn’t be complete without an afterparty? The “Afterparty” starts at 3 pm at Sedona Brewing Company’s Basecamp, another great community hang out a mere 5-minute walk from the library, where the night continues with live music from 5 to 7 by Rivers Run Wild!
This event is guaranteed to be the talk of the Verde Valley – definitely not something anyone will want to miss! So, save the date, mark your calendars, tell your friends, and GET LOUD! Don’t forget to get your new, upgraded library card and when you do, you’ll also get a token for a free beverage and limited-edition glass at the afterparty at Sedona Brewing Company’s Basecamp!
We hope you’re as excited as we are to start this new adventure at the library! Come and explore with us all the great things this library and your community have to offer! The library will reopen to serve the Community on Monday, December 9, returning to normal hours. Curbside service will be discontinued, As we reopen and return, so do all the amazing programs you’ve come to expect from your community library!
