It’s Time to Show Your Library Love

Ahhh February, how eventful it’s been the last few days. Far off in Punksutawney, PA the world watched with bated breath as a groundhog by the name of Phil let it be known that six more weeks of winter awaited us. Well…on the East Coast. In Sedona, it’ll be cold but wait an hour and you’ll be in a light jacket by the time you decide to leave the house and visit the library. Yes, February is also the month to celebrate your sweetheart, as romance is thrust upon you to buy chocolates and shiny bijouterie to show one’s affection. Or a hastily purchased card from the grocery store proclaiming your adoration.

February is also the month where the community here and across the country is encouraged to shower their love upon that bastion of knowledge, discovery, and story time -the library. There are a myriad of special ways to show love for the library. Yes, chocolate might be involved. Read on and lean into the love.

The Village thrives on community and nowhere is that more evident than at the Community Library. Last year, thanks to generous donations, the Village library hosted a record-breaking 300 events, welcoming nearly 3,000 residents of all ages. This February, your support can help do even more—more programs, more events, and more opportunities to come together and celebrate what makes the Village special. Every dollar donated fuels the future of the library and strengthens the heart of the community. Plus, with our 501(c)(3) status, your donation is tax-deductible! Don’t wait—the February Fundraiser ends Friday, February 28!

And once you’ve contributed, join fellow supporters, friends, and neighbors at the “Viva La Village” community celebration on Tuesday, February 25, from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM. Stay tuned for more details!

Finally, remember when you stop by the library you can always show your community love to some of our partner non-profits. For instance, please bring in your extra plastic grocery bags for the Sedona Area Homeless Alliance (SAHA) Operation Bedroll project. You can view the loom used for this amazing weaving project that creates lightweight sleep mats for those without beds. Next, stop by the Friends Used Book Store. Their inventory is amazing, their prices are perfect, and their proceeds support the Library. Another win-win. Finally, when you come by enjoy our annual quilt display in partnership with the Red Rock Quilters. All 60 plus quilts are gorgeous and will be on display for the rest of the month. The 30th Annual Quilt Show will conclude on Saturday, March 1. Look up and feel the love!

Community Library Sedona is also a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Your gifts and support, just like the Friends’ contributions, allow us to provide a plethora of services and programs for the community, for free, all year long. Visit communitylibrarysedona.org/donate to make an online gift today.
