Step Fixit ClinicVolunteer Sedona & the Verde Valley, in collaboration with the City of Sedona Sustainability Department, extends heartfelt thanks to the many community nonprofits and individuals that took part in the Volunteer Expo. With nearly 40 organizations represented, the event was a vibrant celebration of civic engagement, drawing over 100 new volunteer sign-ups. The Volunteer Expo served as a powerful showcase of volunteerism in action, highlighting the commitment and generosity of residents throughout Sedona and the Verde Valley. Thanks to everyone who participated and helped make this event a success. Dedication like this is vital to building a stronger, more connected community through service. Sedona Toys for Tots extends heartfelt thanks to the community for its generous support. Thanks to these contributions, the organization was once again able to participate in the Toys for Tots Literacy Program this year. As part of this initiative, Sedona Toys for Tots provided summer reading books to the students of West Sedona Elementary—helping young readers stay engaged and inspired during the break. Volunteers & Participants

Community GardenRotary Club of Sedona Village Community Garden, located behind the former Big Park School on what was the baseball diamond, has over 20 raised beds, many of which are available for adoption by people in the community. Each bed has water and has been refreshed with new dirt and compost this year. The adoption fee is a $200 contribution to the Rotary Club of Sedona Village Charitable Fund, a 501(c)3 corporation. Hope House of Sedona is currently seeking dedicated, community-minded individuals to join its Board of Directors, including a Treasurer to help steward the organization’s financial well-being. The nonprofit is looking for leaders who are passionate about its mission of supporting families experiencing homelessness and who are eager to contribute their expertise in governance, fundraising, or financial oversight. Board members commit to attending monthly virtual meetings, engaging with the community, and helping to expand Hope House of Sedona’s impact throughout Sedona. Sedona Chamber Ballet presents professional ballet performances and promotes artistic excellence through education, collaboration, and outreach. Currently they are seeking 4 strong volunteers to haul a dance floor on Monday morning, June 16 and assist that morning 8–12 p.m. Additionally the crew is needed on Thursday and Friday, June 19–20 from 12–8 p.m. Volunteers are also needed on Saturday morning, June 21 to help transport the dance floor to the truck. The Community Library Sedona Youth Services team is on the lookout for engaging outdoor activities, and a portable badminton set fits the bill perfectly. They are seeking donations of rackets, birdies, and a net to bring this fun idea to life. Meanwhile, the Teen Midweek Hangout’s “LEGO Club” is building momentum—literally and figuratively. The club is looking to expand its collection of bricks to support hands-on learning for teens and preteens. The program encourages curiosity, experimentation, and collaboration as kids learn through play by constructing, deconstructing, and rebuilding in creative ways. The Sedona Community Food Bank uses a large number of full-sized brown paper grocery bags to pack food for clients each week. Currently, their supply is critically low. With more than 200 clients visiting the food bank every Wednesday, having an ample supply of bags is essential to keeping operations running smoothly. Please donate brown grocery bags to 30 Inspirational Drive in West Sedona, Monday through Thursday between 7 a.m. and noon. Verde Valley Sanctuary, a nonprofit organization committed to providing safety, services, and comfort to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, is seeking community support through donations to its thrift store, Twice Nice Thriftique, located at 1225 W. State Route 89A. The store is currently in need of jewelry, including costume and fine pieces, for resale. Additionally, donations of new clothing, hairbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lip balm are requested to support survivors directly. Clients also benefit from gift cards to popular department stores and Cottonwood restaurants. Everything sold at Twice Nice helps fund the important work of Verde Valley Sanctuary. The Sedona Area Homeless Alliance (SAHA) is working to meet the urgent needs of homeless women and adolescent girls by requesting donations of essential items such as sanitary pads, tampons, menstrual cups, wipes, underwear of all sizes, toilet paper, menstrual cramp medication, and 1-gallon or 1-quart storage bags. Donations can be dropped off at Namti Spa, located at 60 Tortilla Drive, in the designated donation barrel. Community members contribute funds via PayPal to sedonahomeless@gmail.com. The Sedona Arts Center is seeking donations of new or gently used art supplies for its upcoming Art Supply Swap Meet. Artists can drop off materials—including paints, brushes, sketchbooks, textiles, frames, mats, sewing materials, art books, canvases, jewelry tools and supplies, easels, paper, craft items, and more—Monday through Thursday, June 16–19, from 10—3 p.m. at the Art Barn, 15 Art Barn Road in Sedona. Donated items will be sorted for a community swap, and donors will receive a free pass to return on June 21 to pick out supplies. The Sedona Area Homeless Alliance (SAHA) “Street Paws” program provides basic and emergency care for the pets of individuals experiencing homelessness. The program is currently in need of two large bags of dog food, one large bag of dog food for small dogs, two cases of wet cat food, as well as dog leashes, collars, and harnesses in all sizes. Donations can be dropped off at Namti Spa, 60 Tortilla Drive in West Sedona, in the designated donation barrel, or by appointment at the SAHA Food Pantry in West Sedona.
