Wish Fulfilled
The Community Library Sedona Youth Services team recently sought engaging outdoor and creative materials to enhance youth programming, including a portable badminton set and building supplies for the Teen Midweek Hangout’s “LEGO Club.” Thanks to the generosity of several donors, these needs were fulfilled. The Friends of the Sedona Library provided a portable badminton set along with multiple sets of interlocking bricks. Individual donors Karen and Jay contributed assorted bricks, while Jourdan donated a “Harry Potter”-themed set. Appreciation is also extended to any supporters not mentioned by name. Both young builders and library staff are grateful for this outpouring of support, which fosters curiosity, creativity, and collaboration through hands-on play. For more information, contact Jordan Prouty at jprouty@communitylibrarysedona.org.

The Humane Society of Sedona has announced a Labor Day sale running August 25–30 at both Paw Prints Thrift Store in the Village of Oak Creek and Paw’s West Thrift Store in the West Sedona Harkins Plaza. During the sale, shoppers will receive 25% off all items storewide. These thrift shops play a vital role in supporting the shelter, raising approximately 40% of the organization’s operating budget. By shopping at or donating to these stores, community members directly contribute to the care of homeless animals in Sedona. The Sedona Community Food Bank is reaching out to the community for help in restocking essential items that are often in short supply. These basics—so named because they are truly essential—are critical to supporting individuals and families experiencing hunger. Currently, they need all types of shelf-stable milk, 1- or 2-pound bags of brown rice, and 100% fruit juice in household-size containers. Mini kid-size fruit juice packs are not needed. These nutritious staples help ensure that everyone who visits the Sedona Community Food Bank has access to healthy food choices. Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at 30 Inspirational Drive, Monday through Thursday between 7:30 a.m. and noon. Contact Cathleen Healy-Baiza at 204-2808 or visit sedonafoodbank.org.
